"To PROMOTE, PRESERVE, PERPETUATE, AND IMPROVE SWING DANCING AS AN ART FORM AS WELL AS COORDINATE AN ANNUAL TOUR OF SWING DANCE COMPETITION EVENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF AWARDING POINTS AND PRIZE MONEY FOR COMPETITORS PLACING IN THE EVENTS."


Each year, The US Open Swing Dance Championships sponsors the final competition of the NASDE Tour. This 12 Event Tour distributes $12,000 in prize money to the top 6 Male and the top 6 Female competitors, based on total points awarded throughout the tour.

In 1995 the National Association of Swing Dance Events, (NASDE) an organization of autonomous swing dance events was formed. The objectives of the Association are to promote, preserve, perpetuate, and improve swing dancing as an art form as well as coordinate an annual cycle of swing dance competition events for the purpose of awarding points and prize money for competitors placing in the events. The NASDE sponsors a tour each year with the final competition at the US Open Swing Dance Championships. The 2009 NASDE tour consists of the following events with an $12,000 prize fund.
